The ADJ DMX Operator 384 is a 19″ rack-mount lighting controller that combines a full 384-channel DMX controller and a simple MIDI controller in a single unit, giving operators straightforward, hands-on control over up to 12 DMX-compatible lighting fixtures from one centralized board.

The DMX Operator 384 controls up to 12 individual fixtures at 32 DMX channels each, for a total of 384 DMX channels. Fixtures are selected via dedicated fixture buttons, and each fixture’s channel assignment is fully programmable to match the DMX configuration of any compatible light.

240 Programmable Scenes and 12 Chases

Thirty programmable scene banks hold up to 240 total scenes, with 12 programmable chase sequences for automated lighting looks during events. Speed and fade faders give the operator real-time control over chase timing and transition smoothness, and a Tap Sync button allows manual override of chase speed to lock it to the music tempo.

8 Control Faders with 4 Channel Banks

Eight physical faders across 4 switchable channel banks provide direct hands-on control of individual DMX channels for each fixture, with an assignable joystick module for pan and tilt control of moving head fixtures without needing to go into a programming mode.

Audio Trigger and Fog Machine Control

A built-in microphone and a line-level RCA audio input allow lighting scenes and chases to be triggered automatically to music, making it practical for unattended or semi-automated event lighting. A dedicated fog machine input and trigger button provides direct control of compatible ADJ fog machines from the same board.

MIDI and RS-232 Integration

A 5-pin MIDI input allows external MIDI devices to trigger scenes, chases, and blackouts, while a USB connection enables use as a MIDI controller with compatible software. An RS-232 input supports keyboard connection for faster programming, and a 3-pin XLR female DMX output connects directly to any DMX-compatible fixture chain.
