Inputs, Outputs, and Standards Conversion
The The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation features 10 3G-SDI inputs and 6 independent 3G-SDI aux outputs, with a dedicated frame synchronizer, frame rate converter, and format converter on every single input. This allows cameras, computers, and non-genlocked sources of different formats to be mixed freely without any external conversion hardware.
Keyers, DVE, and SuperSource
The Blackmagic Design switcher includes 4 upstream keyers and 1 downstream keyer supporting advanced chroma, luma, and linear keying, along with a DVE processor for squeeze and graphic wipe transitions. A SuperSource compositing processor adds multilayer capability for picture-in-picture builds and complex visual arrangements.
Multiview Monitoring
A built-in multiview output supports up to 16 routable windows on a single monitor, covering inputs, keyed video, graphics, stills from the media pool, and program output, giving the operator a complete overview of the production at all times.
28-Channel Fairlight Audio Mixer
The built-in Fairlight audio mixer handles up to 28 channels with a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, and gate on every input, along with embedded audio from all SDI sources and balanced analog audio inputs. Full broadcast talkback is supported via front 5-pin XLR headset and rear RJ12 for ClearCom or RTS systems, with SDI talkback on channels 15 and 16 for two-way communication with Blackmagic cameras.
Control and Media
The Blackmagic Design switcher can be controlled via the built-in front panel with an LCD for program monitoring and on-screen menus, ATEM Software Control for Mac and Windows, or an optional ATEM Advanced hardware panel over Ethernet. The media pool holds 20 stills and up to 200 frame animations for use with the built-in media players.
