Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 4 M/E 8K

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 4 M/E 8K is a top-tier live production switcher with 40 12G-SDI inputs, 24 aux outputs, standards conversion on every input, 16 Advanced Chroma Keyers, 4 DVEs, 2 SuperSource processors, 4 independent Ultra HD multiviews, and a 156-channel Fairlight audio mixer. It operates natively in Ultra HD and switches to full 8K, making it one of the most capable live event switchers available.

Inputs, Outputs, and Standards Conversion

The Blackmagic Design Constellation 4 M/E 8K features 40 12G-SDI inputs, 2 main 12G-SDI outputs, and 24 12G-SDI aux outputs, with an individual standards converter on every single input, allowing seamless switching between sources regardless of format without any external conversion.

Keyers, DVEs, and SuperSource

The switcher includes 16 ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers supporting chroma, linear, and luma keying, 4 DVEs, and 2 SuperSource multilayer processors, each with 8 extra DVE layers plus a background layer. SuperSource appears to the switcher as an additional input source, making it ideal for complex picture-in-picture and layered visual builds during live events.

Multiview Monitoring

Four independent Ultra HD multiview outputs are configurable to 4, 7, 10, 13, or 16 simultaneous views, covering program, preview, inputs, media players, downstream keyers, and clean feeds with optional labels and audio meters, all on a single monitor per multiview output.

156-Channel Fairlight Audio Mixer

The built-in Fairlight audio mixer handles up to 156 channels with 6-band parametric EQ, and dynamics processing including expander, gate, compressor, and limiter on every channel. Eighty channels are de-embedded from SDI inputs, and full talkback is supported via front XLR headset connector, rear RJ12 expansion for ClearCom or RTS systems, and SDI talkback using SDI channels 15 and 16 for two-way communication with Blackmagic cameras.

Control and Media

The Constellation can be controlled via the built-in front panel, ATEM Software Control for Mac and Windows, or an optional ATEM Advanced hardware panel. The media pool stores up to 24 full-resolution 8K stills or 64 Ultra HD stills, and motion graphics clips for stingers can be up to 100 8K RGBA frames.
