2.4 GHz spread spectrum wireless
The Tempest 2400 operates on the 2.4 GHz ISM band using frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology, which helps mitigate interference from other devices sharing the band. This makes it a resilient wireless intercom solution for environments where dedicated RF spectrum is unavailable.
Full-duplex, party-line communication
The system supports full-duplex, hands-free communication across a shared party line, allowing all users to speak and listen simultaneously without any push-to-talk activation. The Tempest 2400 is designed as a standalone wireless intercom system and does not require a separate matrix or base station to operate.
Range and antenna architecture
The Tempest 2400 base station supports a range of up to 1,000 feet in open environments, with the option to deploy remote antennas for extended or distributed coverage. The system supports up to eight beltpack users simultaneously within a single coverage zone.
Beltpack and system design
Tempest 2400 beltpacks are compact and lightweight, powered by standard AA batteries for easy replacement in the field. The system includes a headset connection on the beltpack with a single-ear or dual-ear headset option, making it adaptable for various production workflows.
