The Datavideo CAP-1 is a compact, plug-and-play SDI to USB 3.0 capture box that brings 3G-SDI video directly into any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer for streaming, recording, or video conferencing, without the need for drivers or external power.

3G-SDI Input with Loop-Through

The CAP-1 accepts one HD/3G-SDI input and provides a dedicated SDI loop-through output, allowing the signal to be simultaneously fed into the capture box and passed on to a switcher, monitor, or recording deck without interrupting the signal chain.

1080p Video Capture up to 60fps

The unit supports full HD video capture at resolutions up to 1920x1080p60, 1080i, and 1280x720p, covering all standard HD broadcast formats. Output video bandwidth reaches up to 350Mbps over USB, with YUY2 recording format over USB 3.0 and MJPG over USB 2.0 or 3.0.

Flexible Audio Input

A 3.5mm stereo line input lets operators switch between SDI embedded audio and an external analog audio source via a front panel toggle, with audio output formatted as 2-channel 16-bit PCM for clean, broadcast-compatible audio capture.

Plug-and-Play USB 3.0 Interface

The CAP-1 is UVC-compliant and requires no driver installation on Windows, Mac, or Linux, with automatic video format and frame rate detection on connect. It draws power directly from the USB 3.0 port, eliminating the need for an external power supply or adapter. Firmware updates are handled via the same USB connection.

Broad Software Compatibility

The CAP-1 works out of the box with OBS, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Xsplit Broadcaster, VLC, QuickTime Player, Amcap, and most other UVC-compatible streaming and conferencing applications across all major operating systems.
