The Datavideo CAP-2 is a compact, plug-and-play HDMI to USB 3.0 capture box that brings HDMI video directly into any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer for streaming, recording, or video conferencing, without the need for drivers or external power.
HDMI Input with Broad Format Support
The CAP-2 accepts one HDMI input and supports a wide range of video formats including 1920x1080p60 down through 720p, 480p, and a broad selection of VESA computer resolutions up to 1600x1200p60, making it compatible with professional cameras, laptops, and presentation sources right out of the box.
1080p Video Capture up to 60fps
The unit captures full HD video at resolutions up to 1920x1080p60 with an input video bandwidth of 150MHz and output video bandwidth of up to 350Mbps over USB 3.0, with YUY2 recording format over USB 3.0 and MJPG over USB 2.0 or 3.0 for broad compatibility across capture applications.
Flexible Audio Input
A 3.5mm stereo line input lets operators switch between HDMI embedded audio and an external analog audio source, with output formatted as 2-channel 16-bit PCM for clean, compatible audio capture across all supported platforms.
Plug-and-Play USB 3.0 Interface
The CAP-2 is UVC-compliant with automatic video format and frame rate detection on connect, requiring no driver installation on Windows, Mac, or Linux. It draws power directly from the USB 3.0 port at just 2W, eliminating the need for an external power supply, and firmware updates are handled via the same USB connection.
Broad Software Compatibility
The CAP-2 works out of the box with OBS, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Xsplit Broadcaster, VLC, QuickTime Player, FaceTime, Amcap, and most other UVC-compatible streaming and conferencing applications across Windows, Mac, and Linux.
