Bidirectional Cross Conversion

The Decimator MD-HX HDMI/SDI Cross Converter accepts one HDMI input and one 3G-SDI input and can convert in either direction, HDMI to SDI or SDI to HDMI, depending on the selected mode. It supports 3G-SDI Level A and B on both input and output, including conversion between A and B formats.

2K Motion Adaptive Scaling and Frame Rate Conversion

The built-in 2K Motion Adaptive Scaling Engine handles conversion between 245 input formats and 41 output formats, with support for upscaling, downscaling, and frame rate conversion in a single pass. It also supports horizontal and vertical image flipping via the scaler.

4 SDI Outputs with Distribution Amplifier Function

The Decimator MD-HX HDMI/SDI Cross Converter provides 1 HDMI output, 2 active SDI loop-through or additional outputs, and 2 SDI outputs, for a total of 4 3G/HD/SD-SDI outputs that allow it to function as a 1-to-4 distribution amplifier. SDI output pair 1 can be configured as a copy of the SDI input or matched to pair 2, and embedded audio pairs in both SDI and HDMI outputs can be rearranged as needed.

On-Device Control and Diagnostics

The Decimator MD-HX HDMI/SDI Cross Converter uses an easy-to-access LCD and button control system with 14 selectable conversion modes, eliminating the need for DIP switches or a laptop on-site. It also includes a built-in test pattern generator with 41 selectable output formats and 58 patterns, audio tone generator, and overlay tools for audio meters, UMDs, format status, and graticules for signal verification.

Compact and Rugged Build

Housed in a solid aluminum enclosure measuring just 4.8″ x 3.1″ x 1.2″, the MD-HX is fanless and low-power, making it quiet enough for use in virtually any environment. A USB port handles firmware updates, and a metal thread locking DC power socket keeps the power connection secure during transport and use.
