The Epiphan Pearl Mini is a compact, all-in-one live video production system that combines switching, recording, and streaming in a single touchscreen-operated unit, built for live events, conference rooms, lecture halls, and any environment where a simple but capable production setup is needed.
Video Inputs and Connectivity
The Pearl Mini accepts 1 3G-SDI input via BNC, 2 HDMI 1.4a inputs, and 2 USB 3.0 inputs on the rear panel, along with network video sources including RTSP, SRT push, and NDI|HX, allowing broadcast cameras, laptops, UVC webcams, and IP-connected cameras to all be used as sources simultaneously.
Touchscreen Switching and Custom Layouts
A built-in touchscreen LCD provides one-touch switching between connected sources and custom layouts. The web-based Admin panel includes a drag-and-drop layout designer for building picture-in-picture compositions and image overlays, and the Epiphan Live portal allows remote switching control from any phone or tablet on the same network.
Hardware-Accelerated H.264 Encoding
The Pearl Mini uses a hardware-accelerated encoder for real-time H.264 encoding, delivering reliable, high-quality output for simultaneous recording and streaming without performance degradation. Multiple full HD 1080p programs can be encoded at the same time.
Multi-Platform Streaming and Recording
The Pearl Mini streams live over Ethernet to multiple platforms simultaneously via RTMP and RTSP, and records locally to a front-mounted SD card slot supporting up to 512GB for quick post-event handoffs. No internet connection is required to capture and record locally.
Audio I/O and Control
Audio inputs include 2 XLR/TRS combo jacks, a stereo RCA line input, and a 3.5mm microphone input, with a 3.5mm headphone output for monitoring. Control is available via the touchscreen, the web-based Admin panel, Epiphan Live, RS-232, or HTTP APIs, with Crestron and QSys driver support for integration into managed AV systems.
