The JBL VRX918S is a compact, high-power suspendable 18″ bass-reflex subwoofer built for professional line array applications, delivering extended low-frequency output in both ground-stacked and flown configurations as part of the VRX900 series.

2268H Differential Drive Woofer

The VRX918S is powered by a single JBL 2268H 18″ Differential Drive woofer, covering a frequency range of 31Hz to 220Hz (-10dB) with a frequency response of 34Hz to 220Hz (+/-3dB). System sensitivity is 95dB SPL at 1W/1m, with a maximum peak output of 130dB SPL and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

Power Handling

The VRX918S is rated at 800W continuous, 1600W program, and 3200W peak, making it well suited for medium to large event spaces that require clean, high-output low-frequency reinforcement without sacrificing headroom.

Enclosure and Finish

The enclosure is constructed from 18mm 13-ply birch plywood in a rectangular form factor, finished in JBL’s rugged black DuraFlex coating. The powder-coated 16-gauge perforated steel grille includes an acoustically transparent charcoal foam backing for additional driver protection.

Flyable and Ground-Stackable Mounting

Integral rigging hardware supports flown line array configurations using the optional VRX-AF line array frame kit or M-10 eyebolt kit. For ground-stacked use, a top-mounted M20 threaded socket accepts the optional SS4-BK adjustable pole for satellite speaker mounting. Dimensions are 20.0″ x 23.5″ x 29.5″ (H x W x D) at 81 lbs.

Input Connectivity and Tunings

Two Neutrik Speakon NL-4 connectors handle input, with a switchable connection mode between +1/-1 and +2/-2 for cabling flexibility across a variety of amplifier configurations. Active tunings for dbx DriveRack models are available at jblpro.com.
