Roland VR-120HD

The Roland VR-120HD is a portable, all-in-one direct streaming AV mixer built for hybrid live events. With 12 video inputs, 42-channel audio mixing, an 8-layer video effects engine, direct LAN and USB streaming, PTZ camera control for up to 12 cameras, and a 7″ touchscreen, it gives one operator full control over both the in-room and online production from a single unit.

Video I/O and Switching

The Roland VR-120HD features 6 HDMI inputs, 6 3G-SDI inputs, 3 HDMI outputs, and 3 SDI outputs, all handling resolutions up to 1080p60. Eight cross-points allow operators to assign live camera feeds, still images, and video clips on the fly, with scene recall for fast source prioritization during an event.

8-Layer Video Effects Engine

The built-in effects engine supports 8 composition layers assignable to the Program, Sub-Program, and Aux outputs, along with up to 4 picture-in-picture windows and 2 downstream key layers with transparent PNG and external key support for overlaying graphics and lower thirds.

42-Channel Audio Mixing

The VR-120HD includes 6 XLR/TRS combo inputs with mic preamps and phantom power, 4 RCA inputs, embedded audio from HDMI/SDI/USB inputs, Bluetooth audio, and 8 assignable faders. Auto Mixing keeps microphone levels balanced automatically, and two auxiliary buses allow independent mixes for in-room and online audiences simultaneously.

Direct Streaming and Recording

The unit streams directly to platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, and Twitch via LAN using RTMP, with no computer required. A USB-C output handles computer-based streaming for Zoom and Teams. Simultaneous recording to an optional SDXC card allows capture for post-event distribution.

PTZ Camera Control and Automation

The VR-120HD supports integrated PTZ control for up to 12 cameras simultaneously, with compatibility across Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic, and VISCA-compatible models. 100 macros, 32 scene memories, and a 7″ touchscreen round out the automation and control capabilities.
