Blackmagic Micro Converter Bidirectional

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G is a pocket-sized converter that simultaneously handles SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI conversion in all SD and HD formats up to 1080p60, with 10-bit broadcast processing, SDI re-clocking, Blackmagic Camera Control and Tally support, HDMI timecode, and USB-C power, all in a compact metal housing.

Simultaneous Bidirectional Conversion

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G handles both conversion directions at the same time, and each direction can run a different video standard independently. For example, it can convert NTSC from SDI to HDMI in one direction while simultaneously converting 1080p60 from HDMI to SDI in the other, effectively functioning as two converters in a single unit.

3G-SDI with Re-Clocking

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G input includes SDI re-clocking, which regenerates the SDI signal, reduces jitter, and improves the SDI eye pattern before processing. This allows for longer cable runs and adds reliability in professional broadcast environments. Both Level A and Level B 3G-SDI devices are supported, covering all SD and HD formats up to DCI 2K via SDI and 1080p60 via HDMI.

Blackmagic Camera Control and Tally

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G supports Blackmagic Camera Control and Tally, allowing Blackmagic HDMI cameras like the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K to be connected to SDI-based live switchers. Camera control signals are passed back through the SDI connection, enabling remote control of camera settings from the switcher.

10-Bit Broadcast Quality Processing

Despite its compact size, the Micro Converter BiDirectional delivers the same 10-bit video processing found in full-size broadcast converters, with HDMI and SDI embedded audio input and output, HDMI timecode support, and support for cine-style 48fps frame rates alongside standard broadcast resolutions.

Compact Metal Build and USB-C Power

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G is housed in a rugged, industrial-strength metal enclosure with power and signal LED status indicators. A USB-C port handles both power and configuration via the Blackmagic setup utility on Mac and Windows, and the unit can be powered directly from a laptop, monitor, or projector USB port.
